Casino Camper Review - April, 2006 Gold Strike, Sheraton (now Tunica Roadhouse), and Horseshoe are all part of a large casino complex. RV Parking Two places to park. 1. As you enter the complex, drive roughly straight ahead and between the Gold Strike and Horseshoe. There's RV parking in the back of the Gold Strike. Watch the speed bumps! This is...

CasinoCamper report, May 2007 We were traveling to Texas from Biloxi and wanted to make it 2 short days instead of 1 long one. We also wanted to avoid any more of the awful road conditions on I-10 in Louisiana, so we headed for Kinder and the Coushatta Casino. We were only there one night, so here's our quick first impression: This place is nice! RV...

Updated with ratings for the new website November 2010 CasinoCamper Visit, October 2007 Quick visit for one night. The RV lot and the casino were both crowded on this Saturday night. No big changes to earlier reports. Poker room in addition to 2/5 NL now has a 1/3 NL game that was loose with 3 to 5 players seeing flops on a $10 - $15 raise pre-flop. CasinoCamper Visit,...

Casino Camper Visit - May, 2006 (Note: at the time this was an Isle of Capri casino) We were dry camped at the Horseshoe for a couple of days. Temps are expected to rise later this week, so we took the Honda toad over to check out the Isle of Capri RV park thinking we might get a hookup site. Looks nice, although a little pricy at...

Casino Camper Update, March 4, 2007 NO OVERNIGHT RV Parking. Previously, based on a phone conversation I had with casino security, we had reported that overnight RV parking was OK. One of our readers, Stephen H., stopped in and was told he couldn't park there anytime. Stephen emailed the casino and received the following reply which clears up the confusion. "...our...

CasinoCamper Report, May 5, 2009 Thunder Valley Casino is once again officially allowing overnight RV parking with a 3 day limit. See their website at this link: http://www.thundervalleyresort.com/rv.aspx and more specific policy details at this link: http://www.thundervalleyresort.com/pdf/rv_information.pdf Thanks to Sandra L. who sent the following email to me: "Please check out the current website for Thunder Valley. Apparently they have thought better of their no RV policy...They now have...

Casino Camper Report, October 2008 NO RV parking, but the new Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, IN is large, beautiful, and modern. We overnighted at the Cabella's, intersection of I-80 and US-41, and drove our toad to the Horseshoe. Positive comments: Large, spacious, you'll think you're in Las Vegas. Good video poker, many video poker machines 99.5% and better. Buffet was excellent, other dining includes a steakhouse and two upscale...

Casino Camper Report, October 2008 This casino is owned by Harrah's, and was previously a Caesars casino. Harrah's has rebranded it as a Horseshoe. We visited for a 2 night stay as we traveled south with the geese. Here are the basics: RV Parking is in a large, well lit area with long parking spaces reserved for RVs and trucks with signs posted to this effect. Security will ask...

May 2007 and again in 2009

We didn't stay here but stopped in twice and checked with a security officer to ask if overnight RV parking is OK. Follow the signs for the AVA Ampitheater and park in that lot out-of-the-way. Be sure not to use your jacks here! They've had trouble with damage to asphalt. This is a nice place. The casino started out small and has been expanded. The new part of the casino is beautiful...

This was our first time visiting Harrah's Ak-Chin, but it won't be our last. The RV parking area is convenient and easy to find as described by others. Be sure to check in at the Total Rewards desk, even if you're already a Harrah's player. Chris did, and received $20 in free play and a $20 food comp on the spot because it's her first time at this casino. In general, Total Rewards is a good players...

Large and fairly level asphalt parking area for buses, RVs and truckers. Beautiful place, rivals Red Rock Station in Las Vegas. Picture a modern Native American Lodge with Frank Loyd Wright accents built with no expense spared. Some VP fairly good, 9/7/5 DB, 9/5 JOB Prog, was over $6000 when I played it. Very good dining options. Buffet was excellent. Copper Rock steakhouse was beautiful and...

Very nice place, attractive, large and modern! Convenient location Good gaming, all the table games and slots. Good VP, 9/6 JOB, NSUD, 8/5/150 BP. Very good food; we ate in the cafe but the other venues looked good as well. Granted we were there only one night but it made a very good impression on us. NOTE this information is NO longer correct. Impressive. Upscale. Well maintained and looks newer than its age (13 years). Overall I would compare to Stations casinos in Las Vegas; rank it above Texas and Santa Fe and just below Aliante. RV Friendly PLUS! Huge parking area for overnight, level, well lit, security patrolled, shuttle service to casino, really excellent. RV Park not actually owned by casino but by the same tribe and shuttle...
