Updated with ratings for the new website November 2010 CasinoCamper Visit, October 2007 Quick visit for one night. The RV lot and the casino were both crowded on this Saturday night. No big changes to earlier reports. Poker room in addition to 2/5 NL now has a 1/3 NL game that was loose with 3 to 5 players seeing flops on a $10 - $15 raise pre-flop. CasinoCamper Visit, May 2006 It's still a nice place, but a few things seem to have changed since our last visit. Comps for meals have tightened up since they fully transitioned to the Harrah's system. We play a lot of Quarter video poker and most Harrah's properties are set up to reward play at a higher level than ours. We also seek out and play the "good" machines, and they accumulate points more slowly. Video Poker: The Horseshoe has several banks of machines with playable VP scattered around. These are NSUD, 9/6 JOB, and 8/5 BP. At the Quarter level, you'll find a bank of Game King slant tops located on the first floor (downstairs) when you first walk in from the escalator. For Dollar play, there are a couple banks of uprights further in towards the center of the room. Watch out, because there are some awful pay-tables mixed in with the good! You'll also find a row of 100 hand slant tops beside the poker room. These are 1cent, 2cent, 5cent machines. So at 1cent you can play 25, 50, or 100 hands and be effectively on a Quarter, Half or Dollar machine. Watch the "bet max" button :-) Other Games: Nice poker room with fairly soft 4/8. I didn't play NL this time but it's gone to 2/5 vs. 1/2 so I expect it to be a little tougher. Also didn't play any tournaments. Craps table is good, and dealers friendly and knowledgeable. Blackjack has good rules, 6 decks, S17, DA2, DAS, RSA, NS. There's always a $5 Craps and Blackjack game. Overall ok, but tight on food comps. If you're a VP player at the Dollar level you'll be happy with the comps. Quarter players might be disappointed. See our earlier review from 2005 below. CasinoCamper Visit, October 2005 A very nice place. The Horseshoe in Bossier City is owned by Harrah's, but we don't hold that against them (yet). Harrah's has never been known for having great video poker, so we hope the 'fair to good" VP they currently have will not go down hill in the future. Nice poker room with 4/8 limit and 1/2 NL most of the time. RV Parking is convenient. Dry camping only. Large well lit parking area on the left as you drive towards the casino. It does fill up, and can be a little tight to turn in with a long rig (like our 37' MH pulling a toad). We've only eaten in the buffet and the coffee shop. Both were very good. Comps are fairly easy for basic food. Steak house is supposed to be excellent, so we plan to try it out next time we're in town.

You cannot park here any more unless you are a small RV that can fit under their overhang and in their small side lot, maybe a small Class C or B. There was a large parking lot on the side of the casino but it was not owned by the casino and the owners have blocked it off. There is no place to really turn around so beware! Less than a mile away is Margaritaville Casino and they allow RVs and 18 wheelers in their back lot. It is right next to Bass Pro Shop. BPS said we could park there but it is part of a shopping mall and there is too busy. Stick with Margaritaville.

As earlier reviews said: parking lot to the left as you enter the drive to the casino, can fill up when busy, can be a bit noisy with road noise and generators.

We arrived there at 4:30 and the parking lot was already pretty full with cars and trucks with trailers. We are 40 ft plus trailer for a total of 65 ft. We were able to swing around and come along side another rv hauling a boat. If there had been anything else there, we would have had a hard time. It doesn't allow Semi's so that helps. The Casino has a parking garage so this is the only parking lot I saw, but it is more of a vacant lot. Not sure if it is owned by Casino. Later on a few smaller rv's came in. Not a bad place to park but don't get there too late in evening esp. if you are long.

There is a vacant parking lot to the left as you enter the drive to the casino. Its about 1/2 block from the entrance with paved sidewalks. We have dry camped here on several trips east and find it very easy to get in and out, even with our 60 feet of RV and trailer. There are no amenities. it is lighted, unmarked parking. We find it very convenient.
