Casino Camper Visit - May, 2006

(Note: at the time this was an Isle of Capri casino)

We were dry camped at the Horseshoe for a couple of days. Temps are expected to rise later this week, so we took the Honda toad over to check out the Isle of Capri RV park thinking we might get a hookup site.

Looks nice, although a little pricy at $25/weeknight. We figured we could play a little and get the spot comped, so we went into the casino. I had read on vpFree that they had a Deuces Wild video poker game with 99.7% payback (known as Not-so-ugly-Deuces or NSUD). We looked on all floors (3 of them) and couldn't locate one. To the contrary, most of the pay tables were awful. Worst we saw was 8,5,4,3,1,1 Bonus Poker, a 86.3% game!

As much as the video poker stunk, the casino itself also had a really bad odor, especially down on the first floor. Smelled like somebody's black tank wasn't vented right. So for a combination of lousy VP and a cramped, smelly casino I don't recommend the Isle of Capri in Bossier City.

However, the RV park isn't bad in a pinch. Probably less than the closest KOA.
