Updating my March 2009 comments. Construction underway so be aware that traffic patterns may change. RV parking still in the same location. Go in main entrance and turn left to reach the RV/Bus lot.
Buffet is good here although you'll definitely want the Total Rewards discount as prices have increased significantly. Steakhouse is a good bet. Agave restaurant serves good breakfast and lunch. It becomes the "Diamond Lounge" in the evening but not the same as most. Each Diamond can order one large appetizer and 2 drinks, so it's more like a complementary drinks and finger food vs. the "Diamond Lounge" that we're all familiar with.
Tip: If they have promotions going on ask if you can get in on them at both the TR booth and at the promotions booth in the back. We got in on a visa gift card promotion that was a nice bonus.

This was our first time visiting Harrah's Ak-Chin, but it won't be our last. The RV parking area is convenient and easy to find as described by others. Be sure to check in at the Total Rewards desk, even if you're already a Harrah's player. Chris did, and received $20 in free play and a $20 food comp on the spot because it's her first time at this casino. In general, Total Rewards is a good players club for travelers because Harrah's owns so many properties around the country.
We ate twice in the buffet, once at lunch, and again at the Saturday seafood buffet. The buffet is very good, and the wait staff and line servers were outstanding. Paying with reward credits, lunch was only 399 ($3.99), and the seafood buffet 1199 points. Besides the buffet you'll find a steakhouse, casual restaurant, and fast food grill.
Chris played video poker, and said the machines are in good condition, but crowded on the weekend and she had to wait for a machine. Some of the VP machines had OK paytables at the Quarter level and above, but they were mixed in with very short pay machines, so you have to be careful where you sit down. There's a poker room and table games too, but no live Craps or Roulette. Instead they have electronic versions of these. I've never understood why anyone would want to play electronic Craps or Roulette. Half the fun of these games is the social interaction with the dealers and other gamblers. Just my opinion.
The location could be a small negative if you're here to visit the metro area. It's about 25 minutes to Chandler, 30 to Tempe, 35 to Mesa, 45 to downtown Phoenix, and 55 minutes to Scottsdale. We felt it was worth the extra drive.

In my opinion, this is the best RV option in the Phoenix area. My suggestion is the Large gravel / dirt lot in the very back of the casino: 33.022965, -112.053348 This was the staging area for last year's construction so is very accessible for larger RV's and 5th wheel's. The back parking lot for oversized can get a little crowded and tight when larger trucks, busses and RV's all park in the same little lot. I would suggest (if they were to Ask) that they open up the gravel area on the south side for Trucks and put RV's in the west gravel lot -- but they never Ask !! :-) Currently there is no posted stay limit or parking restrictions and I hope we can all help Keep it that way by patronizing their Casino when we are there !! Lots of action inside with slots, video poker, BJ, Hold'um, 3-card, Paigow but NO Bingo. Movie theater and large 'event' center next door (walking distance) - Walmart, grocery and fuel all within a mile or two and only about 30 minutes to downtown. Several dining options inside including a Buffet. We'll return for lost of Fun and Games at our favorite Phoenix Stay and Play option !!

As of March 7,2019 there will be NO RV parking in the front lot. All rigs will have to park behind the casino in the "west" parking area. We were notified in writing about this change. Had spent 3 days in the front lot with no problems.

One of the few casino's in the Phoenix area where you can actually Free park. There are two parking areas on the south side of the casino - one in front on the outsides or a regular parking lot and one in back which is the actual 'oversize vehicle' area with the buses and trucks. We stayed 6 days with no problems or questions - in fact we never did interact with a security person (wish they would drive around more) . Still construction going on for hotel expansion and they did Not have shuttles but it's less than 100 yards from any parking area to casino door. Very nice casino with Very little smoke, plenty of food opportunities, no 'bonus' for new players and no real 'activities' (like over 50) or specials but we enjoyed the stay and used it as a hub to visit phoenix (since you can Not park at any of the casino's closer to town). Slots and cards (BJ - 3card - PaiGow - hold'um - flush) and drinks cost $5. Enjoyed it !

This is a good stopover. The RV Parking area had about 6 rigs there and space was getting a little tight for large RV's. The parking area is blocked on all sides with only one entrance/exit. The casino is fairly nice. We also enjoyed the family entertainment area. Watched a movie and had lunch there. LOTS to do for familys. We just missed a large carnival with free concerts.

We stayed here again a couple nights the winter of 2014. Pretty much the same, still had full pay JoB VP at the dollar level. The buffet got a major overhaul and is pretty nice; still has good food at a reasonable price. The Diamond Lounge has been moved to a former restaurant, larger and can seat more members. Still a good stop if in the area and getting to use Harrah's Total Reward points for food a big advantage.

Report from Amber, February, 2009
The Range Steakhouse was very good, we were surprised! There are lots of RVs in the parking lot this time of year (February). Harrah's has a shuttle from the parking lot to the Casino so you don't have to walk. There is also an RV Park just down the road (5 Miles), where you can dump, fill water, get propane, etc. Their dump fee is only $10. There's really nothing else around, there's the Casino and that's it! The $5.95 buffet was a good value. We will stop here again.

Report from Jim, April 2008
We camped at Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino/Resort near Casa Grande Arizona on March 23, 2008- two paved parking lots and one dirt overflow. Talked to Security people and there is no problem staying overnight free - no registration necessary. We parked in the lot away from the trucks but did have the road traffic noise - no big deal. Here are the photos.

Report from C. Carter, March 22, 2008
Saw your link on Nick Russell/Gypsy Journal's blog. There were from 8-12 RV's (& us) staying at Harrah's Ak-Chin Indian Casino on Feb 21 and 22. Both nights there "appeared to be an empty 5er" and no tow vehicle. [Oh well.] Mon-Thurs you can complete an info card, get an Harrah's membership plastic card on a nifty plastic-coiled "key chain?" and eat their medium-extensive lunch for $5.95...Fri, Sat, Sun the lunch reverts to $9.95.
Being out in the country (S of Phoenix) it's quiet at night. But I wondered about gambler-traffic on F,S,S (i.e. weekends). There was a fire mid-morning (Fri) in the bingo-hall (exterior-separate building) and a dozen fire-police-EMS vehicles. We joked (among ourselves) that grand-ma dropped her cigarette on her bingo card.
Not, a short in the air conditioning unit.
Plenty of room for any size RVs. Could/can handle 30-50+. Next to us were 5 Canadian "plates" having a pleasant FREE "camping party" (i.e. lawn chairs, grills, 1-wheel chair, dogs on leases, etc).
Would do it again when in the area...........but not summers.

Report from Rick and Lucky Lucy, February 2008
We have stayed -- dry camped -- at Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino in Maricopa, AZ, on several occasions. Like many other Indian casinos this one is out in the country several miles from any town. There is plenty of parking for RVs of all sizes and there are usually several in the lots. Tour buses and semi trucks also use the lots but there is room to get away from them, especially in a smaller camper. There is a large dairy operation a few miles south of the casino and if the wind is just right, which it often is, you can experience the unmistakable odor of thousands of cattle confined to a small area.
The casino buffet is nothing to write home about but it serves the purpose and the price is right. We had one meal at the steak restaurant (The Range, I think) and I would give it only a D+ for both food and service.
They had a few full pay VP machines at the $1 level but our last visit was over a year ago so those may be history by now. Harrah's is not real big on providing full pay machines.
All in all this is not a bad place to hang out for a couple days if you happen to be in the area.
