-CasinoCamper Update, May 1, 2008

I didn't realize that Cliff Castle has a full-hookup RV park. I just received an email from casino management with the following information:

"Our RV Park, Distant Drums, is located just over the interstate from us, and we have a free 24-hour shuttle to the casino from the park."

This appears to be a very "family friendly" location for casino camping. In reviewing this casino and RV park I noticed there are many nearby attractions; state and national parks, historic sites, etc. and the casino features a Kids Quest, a bowling alley and a large arcade.

- report from Scott D., December 2007
Update on Cliff Castle Casino in Camp Verde, AZ Spent one night 12/13/07. As stated, plenty of parking and free shuttle. We walked from the lot to the casino - we took the shuttle back. There were no direct sidewalks from the lower lot to the casino which was just above it. Probably about 500 yards away. You had to walk all the way back to the main entrance, and walk up there, which did not have a full sidewalk. They have the number for the shuttle posted in the lower lot, and gladly picked you up. Long story short - my suggestion to potential walkers... take the complimentary shuttle.

- report from Rich, June 2007
I can confirm that overnight RV parking is allowed at Cliff Castle. Visit date: 5/28/2007 When we visited there were about six rigs here plus several 18- wheelers. The lower lot is the RV parking area -- don't go to the upper lot by the casino! Instead, after exiting I-17, go through the rotary (2nd right) and then a hundred feet past you'll see the turn- in for the lower parking lot. There was plenty of space for RVs when we visited.

No amenities in the parking area, but there are signs everywhere giving a phone # to call to get a complimentary shuttle pickup to the casino. We used this service several times and the drivers were friendly and helpful.

The casino has four restaurants including a Johnny Rockets hamburger joint, a 20-lane bowling alley, a video game room, and a kids' play area.
