Lot is sloped throughout - making it everything from level to impossible depending on where you park. Public Safety staff is top notch friendly and helpful. Casino is earthy toned which we like better then the bright colors elsewhere. The buffet is usually tops and there is a Chick-fil-A and a Pasta Vita. Nice river view from the lot.

Magnificent view from top carpark

July 2016 Just park anywhere in the top (RV Campers) carpark and set yourself up, if you are lucky you will have a magnificent view over the Thames River. Site is all blacktop, slightly sloping but easy to level with just a couple of blocks. Security will come by and register you. Nice Casino, choice of eating spots from snack food to fine dining. Shuttle to casino every 15 minutes over 24 hours

As others have said, the parking lot, although paved is very uneven - slopes towards the Thames River - you can park right along the guard rail and look down in to the river, but be prepared to be up in the air on one side of your rig if you do. We ended up in center of lot, straddling several sites to find a level enough spot for our rig. When you arrive, phone security and they'll come up to register you - go ahead and get set up while you wait (although for us they followed us up the hill). We stayed midweek in Sept and had lots of open space to choose from. Shuttle bus to casino comes through every 15-20 minutes - lots of dining option in casino from coffee & donuts, to burger to buffet and then the $$$$ name restaurants. We ate at Margaritaville as they offer early bird $5 drink and appetizers from 3-6 pm. Very large casino with lots of gaming areas. Still found them overpriced with $10 Black Jack mid-day.

Been here many times. Reviewers are right, lot is a large undulating paved lot on the hill a good half mile from the Casino entrance. There are some places where you can get level, though they are the first to go. Shuttle bus is convenient and we have always enjoyed all the casino personnel including the security guys who will check you in. Check in is good, for your protection, as they don't want permanent "campers" staying in the lot, nor do you. Inside the casino, VP machines have so-so pay tables. Live poker is nice with fairly good activity. Restaurants are on the pricey side as Casinos go but fairly good quality. Comps are dreadful as they are at Foxwoods as well. You are competing with big city whales for their attention, and you will unlikely impress them with your play, unless of course you are a whale yourself.

We have stayed there numerous times over the past few years. It is a big paved parking lot that is not very level. You must checkin by calling the number on the signs and place the permit in your window. The staff is very nice. The shuttle service runs every 15-20 minutes and is reliable. It would be difficult to walk to the casino. It is okay for dogs but there is not much grassy area around. Wifi is available throughout the casino area. Food is good.

We found that the information posted in June 2009 to be still correct. We were lucky enough to stop during a promotion where if we showed them a Player's Card from an Atlantic City casino - we used our Total Rewards card -and you signed up as a new player you received $100 in free slot play! This was absolutely the best sign up offer we have ever seen. There still does not seem to be a limit of how long you can stay in the RV lot. You just need to let security know. I would definitely come back here again.

June 6, 2009

report from Mark M., June 6, 2009 We spent Memorial Day weekend 2009 at Mohegan Sun. Looks like they're doing construction, so their old RV parking area is no more. Now there is a turn off at the first traffic light as you approach the casino. The road leads to two lots for RV and oversize vehicle parking. There first lot on the right did not exclude RV's, but when we were there it was almost all tour busses and a couple of trucks. Follow the road down the hill, then turn left up the hill, and at the top is a second lot. This seems to be the preferred parking area for RV's. Most of the time there was a security vehicle there, and the guard issues you a permit to park. No fee or anything, you just say how long you plan to stay. Mohegan Sun has some of the most friendly security people I've ever met. The parking lot is not overly level. Spaces nearest the road are a little noisy, but middle spaces and those near the hill are more quiet. Not a lot of green around to exercise the dog, but there was some. No more easy walk to the casino, I'm afraid, but shuttle buses ran every 10 or 15 minutes during the day, though less often at night.

- report from Dick B., October 14, 2008 I recently stayed in the RV parking lot at the Mohegan Sun casino in CT. Lots of room but the parking lot is deceptively unlevel. I see big rigs with blocks under the jacks to give more reach. Beautiful casino. There is no check in.

May 27, 2008

report from Jim O'Brient, www.OvernightRvParking.com, May 27, 2008 New directions for parking - You are welcome to stay at no charge in our bus and oversized vehicle lot, which is on the casino grounds. There are no hookups. Follow the signs for oversized parking. We are currently directing all oversized vehicles to our new Turtle and Bear parking lots. These lots are especially designed for oversized vehicles with large turning areas and spaces lined out to fit these vehicles. The best way to reach these lots is to enter the property on the Blvd and follow the signage for "Oversized Vehicles". As you enter property stay in the right lane and take your first right off the Blvd. into the M lot/Thames garage area, and stay to the right travelling past Thames garage (but still in the M lot). The Turtle lot is your next right and the Bear lot is your next left. There are shuttle stops nearby that will bring you to the casino.

April 30, 2008

report from Jack B, April 30, 2008 I wanted to update you on the state of RV parking at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT. They are planning another hotel tower which, I believe, will affect the RV parking area, to some degree. They created two large parking areas closer to the entrance road to the casino. I have seen tour busses parked in one lot and RVs parked in the other lot. I believe that the entrance to these lots is at the traffic light on the road to the casino. I saw 1 or 2 shuttle stop structures so it appears that they have shuttle service from the RV lot although I cannot confirm this with 100% certainty. Anyone who is planning to take their RV to Mohegan should probably call to find out the particulars of the new parking area. I don't remember seeing any RVs parked in that back lot the last time I was there.

December, 2007

report from reader Scott D., December, 2007 We've been regulars at the Mohegan Sun for years, and always see RV's parked in the back lot (just keep going to the last lot after you enter from the main entrance). We just recently purchased our own RV, and did an overnighter. We leveled, and extended our slideout for the night, with no hassles. The lot is just a short walk from a casino entrance.

May 2006

report from reader Lia M., May 2006 We stay at Mohegan Sun. We park near the bus parking and next to one of their shuttle stops. You get on the shuttle to get to the casino entrances that are quite a walk and get back after your casino visit . The decor in the casino is remarkable and worth the trip even if you don't gamble.
