My wife and I have stayed there on and off since 2010. We love the casino and the people are friendly and nice. We are from an area just south 75 miles, so we know the town is very safe. The town is small and a lot of very good eateries are nestled in that area. Try Sharon's Deli just minutes north on HWY 95. Best sandwiches ever. The food at the casino restaurant is great. Never too busy, we usually are there with about 2-3 other casino campers. The one draw back is it it located by a train main line and train traffic is loud and often. That never stops me from accepting their free camping offer. They are located on the Kootenai river and great place to enter BC. Canada just 30 miles up the road. Happy Campers.
Check us out at Roving Fox on Facebook. Lots of photos.

Report from Sean, May 30, 2010 http://OurOdyssey.BlogSpot.com

We stayed at the Kootenai River Inn Casino and Spa in Bonners Ferry, Idaho on May 30, 2010 (the evening before Memorial Day). We saw two other rigs in the lot while we were there.

We stayed in the main casino lot on the east side of US-95; southbound travelers might find it more convenient to stay in the Visitors Center lot on the west side of US-95, where overnight parking is also supposed to be allowed. A pedestrian tunnel under the highway links the visitor center and casino lots. The lots are small, but we parked as far away from the doors as practical and never had any other vehicles near us, even on a holiday weekend.

We had an excellent dinner at The Springs Restaurant, the lone dining venue on premise. The restaurant sports panoramic views of the Kootenai River, and the seating is terraced to ensure all tables have good sight lines. There is also a small lounge area featuring a central gas fireplace. A large deck outside the vista windows would appear to offer al fresco dining overlooking the river in better weather.

The casino itself comprised three separate gaming rooms (one non-smoking) plus a bingo room, all surrounding the central lobby of the attached Best Western hotel. The facility also claims to have a spa, which would love to have sampled, but it is not open on Sundays or Mondays, the days of our visit.

We never found any Security with whom to clear our stay, but we mentioned it at the restaurant and it raised no eyebrows. There is a hotel desk staffed around the clock as well.

The casino is extremely convenient for anyone traveling to or from Canada on US-95, or heading east or west on US-2 (which is co-linear with US-95 from Sandpoint to Bonners Ferry)
