December 13, 2008
report from James M., December 13, 2008

Drove over to SPOTLIGHT 29 Casino for the evening. There is now a large marked RV parking lot to the west side of the casino. Free overnight parking is allowed.

They have separated the RV's from the trucks so other than the freeway noise it is fairly quiet. They have posted signs for RV parking so it is easy to find off the I-10 freeway. Typical large Vegas type casino.

Report from Diane T., February 2009

Last month we stayed in their area for campers. It was real easy to get to with signs telling you where to park. There were a lot of other motorhomes. I will have to say that you do get a lot of noise from the freeway but otherwise a good place to spend the night. They also said you may stay up to 72 hours.

2006 - 2008
Several reports from 2006 - 2008

- report from Larry S., January 26, 2008
I just called the Spotlight 29 Casino in Indio, CA today, 1/26/08. I was told that they had a temporary ban on overnight camping due to construction. They didn't say how long it would be until they allowed use of an overnight area. Security said to call ahead, but made no promises if or when this would change. I hope I was told wrong because this has been a great place to stay overnight for several years.

We overnighted at the Spotlight 29 Casino in Coachella recently. They have a large area for RV's and a separate area for trucks. RV rules: Parking limited to 24 hours in designated RV area only; no outside cooking; no open containers of alcohol; pets on leash and clean up after them.

They have a fast food court (which we didn't check out, but includes a McDonald's). We ate at the cafe. The food was average and the ambience was institutional...circa 1968. The video poker looked dismal according to our non-scientific poll.

Boondocked a few nights at the Spot 29 Casino in Coachella. It has a huge paved parking area and RV-ers are welcomed. I noticed some got so comfortable that their TV dishes were set up. Excellent security 24-7. This is a favorite with the large trucks as well, who have a separate area to park.

The marvelous $14 buffet they had prior to Covid is now replaced by a steak restaurant. Also has a chinese restaurant and a bar&grill, all way too expensive. There is a mexican restaurant a block away plus several fast food places with in a mile. Sign says 24 hour stay, but no parking lot security patrol. I just stayed 3 days and saw no patrolling, same in prior years. Huge lot gets filled up with RV's and dozens of semi-trucks each evening.
