January 2007
- report from reader Cyndi H., January 2007

My daughter works at Casino Morongo, in Cabazon (between Palm Springs and Banning on the I-10). When I went to pick her up tonight, since her car's in the shop, I noticed they have a special RV parking lot. She says people stay overnight there all the time.

A little research led me to this: at http://www.rvdumps.com/ca.htm there's this listing for Casino Morongo:

"Dump station is at the Shell gas station owned by Casino Morongo, 49750 Seminole Dr, 800-252-4499, $15 fee, free overnight parking allowed in casino parking lot."

Staff was really great to deal with. Need to check in with the valet…and you can stay up to 7 nights.

Great place to stop!

Report from Tom L., December 6, 2009

I called the casino today, and was told that RV parking is permitted in the lot behind (to the north of) the parking structure. If you zoom on the satellite imagery on the Google map, you can actually see RVs there.

RV parking is very nice. We got lost finding it and ended up in the truck parking area. We were were then escorted by security to the RV parking.

There is a gas station on site.

Our overall impression was tempered by the stingy slots and expensive top floor restaurant. We had a glass of house wine while we read the menu and the wine was about $12 a glass!

Weve camped before here and never had a problem. Today we were at the pool and there was a group of ladies minding their own business when some kids started throwing buckets of water on them. It looked like one or two of the ladies talked to management and before long there was a group of tribal people screaming and threatening them. These locals acted like they wanted to kill these poor ladies. It was very scary. The tribal police came and they seemed confused. And next you know they ladies were escorted out. I overheard one of them saying that locals were from the tribe and were high up and so the security couldnt really do anything. Not sure what how it got resolved but those ladies are gone and that local family is still here. Ive never seen such scary intimidation in my life. And the casino seemingly kicked the ladies out . Unbelievable. We will never be coming back. If were on "sovereign" land and have to rely on tribal police to protect us from aggressive tribal members that out rank them then it is not a safe place to be.
