Report from Barry B., March 6,
2010
Tonight (March 6, 2010) we are at Harrah's Chester -
Casino and Racetrack, Chester, PA. The casino consists of 2,900 slot
machines and 100,000 square feet of gaming space. Unfortunately the
race season is not on in March, so no racing this trip. We asked
in November (when we were here before) where we could park, and they put us
in the bus parking area. This may sound bad, but it is between the
barns and the racetrack, so the horses and sulkies were going by outside our
window, and it is very convenient to walk to the casino and
racetrack grandstands . The people in the Security Center
(outside to the left of the main entrance) were very nice and helpful.
Report from -Sean Welsh,

http://OurOdyssey.BlogSpot.com
We stayed here last night (11/22/2008). While the
Casino Camper site had a quote from a casino employee indicating they had at
least some parking set aside for RV's, we found none when we arrived.
When we called the casino and described our vehicle, they directed us to
park in the bus loading/unloading area south of the parking garage. A
sign at the entrance to this lot says "Buses Only." There are four bus
stalls here, nose-in angle spaces designed to put the door of the bus right
at the sidewalk for passenger unloading.
Since we have a bus, we did not seem out of place in this spot, and only one
or two tour buses arrived last night (a Saturday) to pick up their groups.
Clearly, the drivers take the buses elsewhere while their groups are in the
casino, but I haven't a clue where -- there does not appear to be any such
place on the property.
The SEPTA transit bus stop is also in this immediate area, and transits came
and went all night. It appears the stop is used mostly by casino employees.
I suggest that you should not plan on staying here at Harrah's Chester
unless you are comfortable sleeping in what amounts to a bus station. It was
no problem for us, but I think I would have been much more self conscious if
my rig wasn't a converted bus to begin with.
We're not gamblers (well, I play a little black jack, but this casino has no
table games), so I can not comment on the gaming. We did eat, though, in the
high-end restaurant, The Cove, and found it quite
enjoyable, with good food and a great view.
Casino Camper Report, November 24, 2007 We had a report back in
May, 2006 that this new casino under construction would include a FHU RV
park. I received an email today from the casino's Advertising/Public
Relations Manager correcting this. They don't have an RV park and no
dump station; however they do welcome RVers to visit and have RV
parking spaces (Note: see Sean Welsh post above).
"...your website has listed
us as being a facility that includes full RV hook-ups when unfortunately not
the case. We welcome guests with campers and have the areas for camper
parking but do not have facilities to dump or replenish water, etc. We
received a complaint from a guest who read the posting on your site"
This brings up another topic
that I'll mention here. Please don't be upset with a casino when
information you find here isn't correct -- it's not their fault. The
information we have is from a variety of sources and is sometimes out of
date. Call ahead if you feel you must know before you go. Here's
a link to more casino parking
etiquette.

They allow overnight RV parking and will pick you up in their van and
transport you between the RV parking area and the casino.

Report from Karen B., August 12,
2010
This casino allows overnight parking but I would not
recommend it. We stayed overnight on two separate occasions, once on a
Thursday night and again the next Tuesday. On Thursday we parked in the
first lot on the left of the main casino drive. It was completely empty
and doesn't appear to get much use. We were joined later in the evening
by a large class A. We both spent the night with no problems. On
Tuesday, around 4:00, we went back to the same lot, spent some time in
the casino and went back to our motorhome. I was still awake at 1:00 in
the morning when a security patrol circled our motorhome then stopped
and came to the door to tell us that we weren't permitted to park in any
of the lots except the farthest lot which was filled with tractor
trailers. Most of the other lots were totally empty. We went to the
truck lot to check it out and decided not to stay. There were over 20
trucks with their engines running, so even though there were a few
spaces opened, it was crowded, noisy and smelly.
The casino itself
is very nice, clean, bright, not very smoky, the latest slot machine
and banks of traditional ones too. Poker machines are not very good. We
ate at Glitter Ti's Pizza in the casino, a fast food place with good
hot sausage sandwiches and chicken parmesan and spaghetti.

Report from Karen B., July 20,
2010
The reports on the Meadowlands are very good - I just
have a little to add. We were directed by security to Lots G and
H, the same ones that Jo B. gives directions to in her post. We were asked
to back in so that we would not take up more than one space because of the
crowds that they were expecting to get over the weekend. The lot is huge and
was completely empty so we thought he may have been exaggerating a bit but,
nope, the lot filled up completely on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Fortunately our RV is small enough. Larger ones would probably be directed
to the lot that Greg mentions. There were a couple of RVs parked in that lot
when we left on Sunday. It's on the left after you turn onto the casino
road. There are no signs and it is inconvenient to get to the casino from
the lot. Plan on unhooking your toad if you stay in that lot.
The casino still seems to play looser than the casinos in
West Virginia. They have also added table games which has increased their
business. We had lunch with friends at the Terrace Café. You can watch
the harness racing from your table which was cool even though we weren't
betting. We ordered various sandwiches and burgers -all were good , the
French fries were a little soggy and the wedding soup was very good.
Report from Greg, December 3, 2009
On our way home from Michigan we stopped at Meadows
Racetrack and Casino in Pennsylvania. It is easy to get to from I-79.
The RV parking area is now at the bottom of the hill and is dirt not paved.
Because it was a week day in the early afternoon we were told we could park
in the parking area at the top of the hill closer to the Casino but if we
planned on longer than a couple of hour stay we would have to park down in
the designated RV area. You would not want to walk from the RV parking
area to the Casino. We only stayed a couple of hours and were on our
way.
The area they have designated for RVs isn’t very secure looking and a long
ways from the Casino. The Casino shuttle driver said that they do come
down to the RV area to pick up customers but I don’t know how frequently
they come down there. All and all I don’t know if I would spend the
night there but the Casino is nice.
- report from Jo B., September 3,
2009
We are staying at this casino overnight tonight on our way
to West Virginia. I had called ahead and was told overnight parking would
be okay. RV parking is at the back/end of the parking lot area. Leveling a
bigger rig like ours would be a challenge if we bothered to try. But for an
overnight stay, we are content to just be at a downhill slant back to
front.
There is no signage designating this as an RV area and it
was obviously not designed specifically for RVs only, the lines are painted
for car parking. But this is where security directed us to park and there
was plenty of room.
There is a strong security presence in the parking lot,
even back here at the end of the lot and it feels safe. Construction on the
casino is complete now and it's quite nice. Clean, roomy, large variety
of slots. We played for a couple hours and only lost about $10. There is a
food court and a couple of restaurants. We didn't eat at the casino so
can't comment on the food or prices. The racetrack has live harness racing
several nights a week and we had a lot of fun watching the races.
Very easy access from I-79 (exit 41 and go east for just
over a half a mile. Casino is on the left. Follow the main driveway past
the parking garage and casino and keep going until you can't go any further
and you'll have reached the RV parking area. There is a parking lot
shuttle to take you to the casino if you are not inclined to walk.

This is a temporary casino so my information will probably
be out of date when the new casino opens in the spring of 2009. The
casino is housed in a big white "tent" type structure and is surprisingly
nice and very roomy.
We've had good luck playing here and it seems like the
slots are set pretty loose. No good VP though. The RV parking is in the
lot at the top of the hill behind the casino. There's a shuttle which runs
continuously or a long flight of steps if you decide to walk down. I didn't
get a picture because we were there during the evening but the parking is
fine for all sizes of RVs.

Posted signs say "RVs use oversize lot". Over size vehicle lot seems
to slope in two directions. Took quite a while to even come close to
leveling. Security guard and shuttle driver both told us to try other lots
since it was a weekday. Walk to Casino is not too far, but shuttles come by
frequently.
Stand
alone casino, i.e. no competition so we found it a little tight. Have eaten
at Johnny Rockets twice and it was fine. Need a slot card to get any free
drinks. Soda and Coffee on basic card. Need mid-level or better slot card
for free alcohol.
report
from Mike, October, 2007
The Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs Casino located
in northeastern Pa allows RV's to park overnight in their parking lot. I
know this because I live very close and have asked if this was their policy.
They are easy to get to. Take exit 170 B off Interstate 81 and follow the
signs.
