- Casino Camper Comment:

The free RV park (W/E) at Bad River is great.  However, we have to pass along all legitimate reports we receive, and Bev E. seems to have a valid complaint and cautionary note for travelers.  See below:

- report from Bev E., August 31, 2009

The gas station advertises free casino cash with purchase.  We filled up the RV with $269. The attendant told us to take the receipts to Player's Club desk and they would give us the casino cash.  At the Players Club we were told we had to have 10 points on our card to cash in for the cash.  After getting 11 points on my card I went back and was told I had to come back next month to collect. We were just passing through and could not come back.  So don't be fooled by that ad "Casino cash for gas purchase."

- report from Pat M., August 7 2009

About 20 sites with 30/50 amp electric and water at sites.  There is a dump station on the east side of the gas station.  All FREE.

The BP station has both gas and diesel.  There is a Post Office open M-F, no outside mail drop.  Also a IGA (Moccasin Trail) is available for groceries, etc.  We did not go in so cannot relate about their prices.  Large parking lot for buses or RVs.  Nice restaurant-open 7a - ?.  The one bad thing is no Verizon cell or aircard reception.  This casino has been enlarged/remodeled in the last few years, quite a few machines.  Some friendly.

-report from anonymous reader, November 2006

The place I am telling you all about is in upper part of Wisconsin, near Ashland.  It is the Bad River Indian Reservation. They have a casino, in Odanah, WI that has about 10 or so angled parking spaces, on the back edge of the parking lot, with FREE Electric, and Water!

They have a gas station, with diesel, a dump station, a small supermarket, post office, and of course the casino/hotel.  There is a small restaurant in the entrance to the casino, with Breakfast, lunch, dinner. There is a Hotel, with pool, but RV parkers are not able to use the pool.

There is a trading post, in the entrance, with lots of "trinkets, etc....- but the best thing is---- you can buy the cards that were used in the casino,( they look almost like new ) DIRT CHEAP !!  Couples , etc... who play lots of card games, can relate to this.

Nearby is the apostle Islands National lakeshore, and at the entrance to the lakeshore, is a do not miss place, also free, the "Northern Great lakes visitor center", a real gem.

Now, this is in the top part of the U.S., so you will want to visit this in the summer most likely, but I have stayed here, as a base camp for running around, in spring/summer/ fall.

-report from reader Eric P., October 2006

We've stayed for a couple of days there. 50 amp hookups with water. I am not sure about a dump station, didn't need it. Fully paved lot. There are about ten sites on the north side of the lot, east of the casino. There appear to be another five next to these sites, behind the grocery store. These five sites were used by truckers when we were there.

There's a gas station and grocery store opposite the casino. First night was great. Second night there was a trucker who idled all night long (sigh). The lot is big but not big enough to keep the trucks segregated from the RV's.

Friendly people in the casino. The food is just fine in the casino. I would not go out of my way to eat there again. I would most happily stay at Bad River again. No charge to camp there!

-report from reader Bonnie P., May 2006

Bad River at Odanah also has a RV sites on the north side of their parking lot. Water and electric are included and there is a dump station. Sites are free.
