Short version:
Overnight RV parking is OK at this casino.
Background and
details: A couple weeks ago I received an email from a reader of this website who was told by
security that overnight RV parking had again been suspended at the
Nugget. I
sent an email to the director of security asking about this and here's
the reply:
"... we do
allow RV Parking in our lot at the Northwest Corner of Victorian Ave.
and 14th St, ½ block west of the Main Entrance to the Casino.
There are no hook ups or dump, so it’s OK to be there for a few days.
My Officers may check on folks to be sure they are OK and not
“Homesteading”."
"I hope by
this summer we can have a little more room, the lot is fairly small, but
we have been getting along OK with the RVs that we have had so far."

Dave didn't
say why our reader was turned away. In my experience, these things
happen sometimes because the security officer on the scene isn't aware
of the correct policy. Other times it's because of temporary
parking issues, special events, etc.
So, the Nugget
is back on the RV Friendly list. If you visit there, or any other

As a former Atlantis/Reno dry camper I was looking for
a new spot in the Reno area and contacted the Nugget in Sparks and here
is their policy which is different that what you have posted.
Email to from Dave Floyd, Director of Security:
Thanks for your question reference RV Parking at
J. A. Nugget. ...we do allow RV Parking in our parking lot
located at the Northwest corner of Victorian Ave, and 14th ST.
I think you will be able to find a location for your vehicle, only block
west of the Main Entrance to the Casino. Our Officers also conduct
a periodic Patrol of our parking lots, for Safety and Security.
We are looking forward to your visit, and hope you will enjoy your stay.

me.

Thanks to Gordon for the report above.
I have deleted older reports to avoid confusion. Quick history;
overnight RV parking has been allowed for many years at JA's Nugget but
was temporarily suspended in 2007. It's great that they have again
become RV friendly, especially since the city of Reno is enforcing their
RV parking ban at Peppermill and Atlantis.
There's no specific time limit for parking at the
Nugget, but they want to ensure you're a customer and not a homesteader
so security may check on you after a few days to verify this.
