Report from Arcing, April 2010
Harrahs is charging $5 a night for 2010, not many parking
there. Dump station appears to be shut down/under construction.
Report from G. Scheff, December 6, 2009
NO LONGER FREE, the rules have changed. $5.oo a night plus $ 5.oo to use
the dump site. OR you can stay a week for $25.oo and the dump site is
free. The lot slants some, clean parking lot on the back side of the
Casino on a hill. Register at the Convenience Store- gas station. They
also sell propane. As of December 5th 2009
Report from Jim, December 6, 2009
I was at Harrah's in Laughlin about 3 weeks ago. There was a sign on the
counter saying that dry camping was $5 per night effective April 2009.
Needless to say, the parking lot was empty.
-report from Rick & Lucky Lucy, January 21, 2009
We spent the night at Harrah's. If you not familiar with
this area, Harrah's is at the bottom of a fairly steep hill -- the driveway
is switchback. They have a service station/convenience store at the top of
the hill and across the street. This is the area for RV dry camping. As
stated elsewhere they now require overnighters to register. Check in is in
the convenience store and requires vehicle registration, proof of insurance,
and driver's license. You will be assigned a parking space -- they are
numbered, pick one out before you register. They request registration within
8 hours of parking.
The store has propane and a dump station ($5). Since Harrah's owns the
store, you can make purchases using Total Reward points. Just get a voucher
from the TR booth in the casino. I intended to purchase propane and got a
voucher but when I went to the store I was informed propane was only
available during certain hours, 2:30 PM for today (Wednesday). We were
leaving at 9:00 AM so missed that opportunity. I used the voucher for gas.
Plan ahead if you need this service.
The Harrah's will send a van to the RV parking area to shuttle visitors to
the casino. Their buffet is pretty good but a bit pricey at $12 each for
lunch.
All in all a pretty decent setup for camping on the cheap and getting out of
harsh winter weather.
