Casino Camper Report, February
5, 2008
After
a tip from my friend Jim O'Briant at Overnight RV Parking Yahoo Group I
called the Colorado Belle Casino and talked with Richard in Security.
He confirmed that overnight dry parking is NOT allowed at the Colorado
Belle, nor at the Riverside.
- from reader Pat, February 2007
We
recently over-nighted at the Colorado Belle in Laughlin. The next morning,
we found a notice on our windshield as follows:
*********************************************************************
RV/Boat Owners Parking Guide
In compliance with Clark County ordinance 24.03.110, we ask that RV/Boat
owners please follow the rules and regulations listed below.
1. Disconnecting from trailers or boats is not permitted. If you need to
disconnect temporarily, please contact security. You will be required to
move your vehicle to the overflow parking lot and sign a liability
release, after which you may disconnect for a period not to exceed 24
hours.
2. Please ensure your sewer lines are not leaking or defective. Do not
dump any type of waste water on the ground or into any type of
container. Any clean up will be done at vehicle owner's expense.
3. If you have a pet, please clean up their waste. Do not let pets run
free or leave them tied up outside your vehicle. Do not leave your pet
locked inside your vehicle without ventilation, food, and water.
4. Do not set up furniture, steps, or cooking apparatus outside your
vehicle. Do not extend "pop-outs." Do not block off spaces next to your
RV/Boat trailer.
5. Vehicles over 30 feet in length are prohibited. Vehicles must not
extend past the striped spaces into the driving lanes. If you are a
hotel guest and your vehicle is over 30 feet, you will be required to
park in our employee lot (see Security for directions).
********************************************************************
They had circled item #4, as we did have steps out. However, they did not
circle item #5 even though we did extend past the striping by a couple of
feet at both ends of the space - we have a 36.5 foot 5th wheel and a large
truck.
Of
note, also, is that the notice stated, at the bottom, "revised 8/27/03" -
quite a bit before the recent Health Dept. ruckus.
There were other lots in town where RV's were set up with slides out, etc.
- I assume some places fully comply with the Health Dept. rules, and
therefore place fewer restrictions on parking.
