Report from Bob T., October 28,
2009
We've stayed here
several times in the past, but they have recently changed their policies.
Our most recent stay was in Sept. 2009. The price per night for the 8 RV
spots with hookups has been raised to $10. You are no longer allowed to dry
camp in the parking lot if one of the 8 RV hookup spots are available.
Don't know about dry camping if all spots are full.
-report from Kevin, November 12,
2008
We stayed here for
2 nights in Nov 2008 on our way to Yuma for the winter. There are 8 sites
that have 15, 30 and 50 amps plus water hook-up. No sewer but dump station
on property. Only $5 a night. No reservations accepted, 30 days max in a
row, up to 3 times a year. Plenty of room to dry camp but only 2
consecutive days allowed.
-report from John and Judi P.,
November 8, 2008
There is a $5.00 per night fee for staying in the RV park.
Obtain permission from security, and check in at the Security Dispatch
office inside the casino. Did not ask about the length of stay, but
others have reported 30 day maximum.
East bound I-10, exit 13, then right on Sunland Park Dr. Turn left on
Doniphan Dr. Turn right on Futurity Dr. Follow signs. North end of
parking lot. Parking lot is level asphalt, well lit, about ¼ mile walk to
casino.
A shuttle is available by calling the casino Valet. Security officers are
very friendly and helpful, and during the day were very evident. The Casino
closes at 2 am on weekends, and there is some traffic noise due to the fact
that the RV park is close to one of the main exits. Also there is some
railroad noise.
There are only 8 sites, that are first come-first served, no
reservations. They are very wide with ample room for slides. Each site has
water, and 30 and 50 amp electrical service. No sewer, but there is a dump
station by the horse barns. No cable, no WiFi.
We ate at the Buffet. Saturday night it was $8.95 per person. Food was okay,
not great, but worth $9 for all you can eat. Gaming was as previously
reported. Very busy on a Saturday evening. I am very cheap, and was
disappointed in how few 1 cent slots there were. So we had a very
short gaming session. No alcohol is allowed in the casino.
I enjoyed my stay here. The staff were courteous and helpful. At $5.00
for the night it was a good stay over.

- report from Pat J., Feb 2008
We are
staying here right now. Had to dry camp for 2 days waiting for a site to
open. First Come First Serve. It does have both 30 and 50 amps with water at
site and a dump station within 1/4 mile near horse barns. So busy in casino,
you have to wait for a slot machine on week end. Lost lots of money on the
slots so started betting on horses and had a great time with very little
loss
-report from reader Peter W., May
2006
Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino in Sunland Park, NM has 8 RV spots
available for $5.00 per night with a 30 day maximum stay. You need
to check in with the Security Dispatch office when you arrive.
There are two electric hookups (I think they're only 15 amp each), water
fill available, and a dump station. All is on a first come-first serve
basis....no reservations. Telephone number for more info is (505)
874-5200. If you call they can tell you if there are sites available at
that time.
Very close to Anthony, TX and is less than 10 miles to El Paso, TX.
The
casino has a pretty good Friday night seafood buffet for $13.95 pp that
runs from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
