- report from Karen B., January, 2009

We stayed for two days in the garage top parking lot. The parking lot is small and has only one entrance/exit, so it's only suitable for RVs that are 25' or less. There are larger lots behind the casino where some other RVers were staying.  The easiest way to get to the lots is to drive south past the main casino entrance and turn right at the next entrance.

Because of bad weather we decided to  moved down to the campground.  It's not an actual campground just five full hook up sites. It's mainly for the convenience of the Game Hunting Lodge but it's also available for use by the general public. $25.00 a night or $15.00 for dumping and fresh water fill - pay at the lodge. It's located about a mile south of the casino. Look for the Hunting Lodge sign.

Rick & Lucky Lucy's Rialta at Inn of the Mountain Gods

CasinoCamper Note:

This is a good example of how a casino will sometimes accommodate gamblers when their official policy doesn't allow free overnight RV parking in general.  In the report that follows note that the author is traveling in a small RV, and they are giving the casino quite a bit of action.

- from Rick and Lucky Lucy, August, 2007

The Inn of the Mountain Gods near Ruidoso, NM, owned by the Mescalero Apache Tribe is one of the neatest places we have stayed while casino hopping across the US. We spent three days there in late February on our way home from wintering in Tucson. Since our motorhome was small and only took up one parking space (if we back up over the curb) they let us stay on the roof of the parking garage. The roof was ground level and just a few steps from the casino making it close and convenient parking. A couple other small motorhomes came in while we were there and took advantage of these fine accommodations.

Gaming was good with many full pay video poker machines including one of our favorites, Pick'Em (99.9%). Comps came easy and they fed us for free for our stay. The buffet was pretty decent with good service and a variety of food. A casino host came around and invited us to come back anytime for free RFB (room, food, beverages). We did win a few bucks and got about $100 cash back which made this stop most pleasant.

But the best thing about this resort is it the scenery and facilities, both are gorgeous. The hotel lobby has floor to ceiling windows that looks out over a lake and snow capped mountains beyond.

There are outside parking lots which would accommodate larger RVs and I am sure they would welcome them. However, some of the lots are not too level. There is a large paved parking area about a mile from the resort which they used before building the parking garage. It is abandoned now but it is nice and level and a good place to park for someone with a toad.

I emailed them.  Within 3 hours I received the following reply:

Thank you for your inquiry. We do have five spaces for RV hook-ups about ¼ miles south of the resort. RV's are permitted to park here at the rate of $25 per day or $125 per week. These spaces include water, sewer, and electricity. If there are any further questions, please give us a call at 1.800.545.9011.
