Three Photos of Hollywood Casino and RV Park from John and Joie

- report from Don L.,
April 26, 2008
Went to Hollywood Casino/Hotel/RV Park 4 times now.
Stayed in hotel twice and RV park twice on those trips, It is newly
and nicely renovated, in Bay St. Louis, MS, just across line from New
Orleans and also fairly close to other bigger casinos, if that is your
liking, in Gulfport, MS and Biloxi, MS. The Island View and brand new
casino on land is about 15 minute drive away and give many comps because
they want business bad. Island View doesn't have an RV park, but the
Hollywood Park is good. The poker comp reduces the full hookup spot to
$12.95 a night if you play poker. It is the "Play and Stay" comp that
if you play 5 hours in 24 you get the comp, but the poker managers will
fudge most of the time.
Spaces are clean, not much for trees, but some. Has
a nice shower/restroom/washer dryer facility. You can Use the hotel
swimming pool or spa pool, there at no charge. On a zero to 10 rating
scale, with 10 as excellent...i would give Hollywood RV park, pools, casino,
buffet, etc. and the shuttle service, every 10 to 15 minutes 24/7 to the
casino, etc...a 7.5 overall.

report, September 2007
We
spent 7 days there and it was nice and quite. The shuttle service is
excellent and the food is not bad. Their RV park is new and it is excellent.
They are also planning to expand.
The bad news - Their slot machines are really, really, really tight! I
strongly recommend you don't go there if you like playing the slot machines
as we do. We played 40 different slots. We played mostly the
1.00 - 3 coin slots and we always fill the machine to the max. All I can say
is " we spent a pile of money and never hit anything higher than $40.00 ".
- report from the Waite's, August,
2007
Hollywood - We
spent 5 days in the RV Park. The cost is $27 per night with full hookups.
The bathrooms are immaculate, wonderful showers, very clean 24 hour laundry.
The casino shuttle runs 24/7 and you can call at any time and they come get
you immediately.
During the week there are $5 tables and they offer black
jack, combo black jack card poker and single deck black jack and we did LOTS
of winning.
The buffets $10 lunch and $15 dinner are fabulous, with
the dinner having huge king crab and snow crab legs - we didn't cook a
single meal. The sandwich shop is open 24/7 as well.
The hotel has a beautiful pool which campers are welcome
to use. We are planning to stop back on our return trip.
Casino Camper Update, October 2006
I
have both good and bad to report about the this casino. First the
good. The RV park is in great shape, and with a comp it's still a
good value, $27+ if you pay full price. We dry camped in the ample
parking lot. The casino inside is very attractive, and the buffet
upstairs is largely unchanged from before -- still a very good buffet
with variety.
Now the bad All the good VP pay tables are gone. We couldn't
find a good machine in the whole place. Chris finally decided it would
be OK to play a 7/5 Bonus Poker machine (98%) because we did have some free
play. She hit 4 aces and cheered, then gasped when she realized it
wasn't "really" a true BP machine. 4 Aces is supposed to pay 400
coins, but on this machine all 4OAK paid 150 coins ARRRRR! That's an
old trick previously only seen in Indian casinos and Harrah's. Now it
seems these mutated paytables with misleading game names are rampant in
South MS. This version is 97.3%. We may visit here once a year for a
single night, especially if we get a promo in the mail for a buffet or
something, but it won't be a destination for us.
Casino Camper Review (from our
visits in 2004 & 2005)
One of the nicest, cleanest RV
parks on the gulf coast. Full price I believe was around $30, but we
didn't take notice because we were comped. We stayed there several
times for a few days each and were very pleased.
Shuttle bus to the casino every
10 minutes or so, shuttle will also take you to the hotel and the golf
course.
We've never dry camped here.
It was always a little warm & humid and we were fully comped so we took the
hookup. I expect you can park in the parking lot. We saw lots of
buses and several other RV's there.
