- Casino Camper Report, December 2007
The situation here
changes because of construction in the area. Lately they've allowed
parking in the lot on the west side of the building. Be flexible.
If the Grand doesn't work out you can park at the Imperial Palace or the
Beau Rivage.
- report from readers Bob &
Marcia, December 2006
Visited the newly reopened Grand Casino (Harrah's) in Biloxi late November
2006.
We
made a reservation (comp) to stay in the hotel. When making that
reservation we inquired about leaving our motorhome with toad in parking
lot. Casino host assured me
that there was no problem and security during the evening.
Upon arrival discovered that the lot is shared with a construction company
with only a small portion available to RVs. There were already 4 RV's
there and had there been 1 more, we would not have been able to turn
around without disconnecting.
We
were a little nervous about leaving the RV there overnight unattended -
but no problems at all. I plan on doing the same when we pass thru
next April.
Biloxi (as is entire coast) is still devastated. As a previous writer
mentioned, the only place to get gas or food (other than restaurants in
Casino's) is at I10 interchanges. Bridges are still out out along Hwy
90/98.
We kept having to detour back to I10 as we headed East.
We
dropped a few bucks at Grand/Harrahs, but we did see other people winning.
I think thats my life story.
(A note for Harrah's Diamond members - Casino Host mentioned that next
year tier score will go from 10,000 points to either 15,000 or even 20,000
points to make Diamond. The Grand in Biloxi
does not have a Diamond Lounge, but DOES have a Seven Star Lounge. I have
never seen a Seven Star Lounge before in any of the 23 Harrah's we've
visited. We peaked in and it was very small
and not a big deal at all - I was really disappointed)

Comment
Regarding Diamond status (and 7 stars) the report refers to, the cost (in
money at risk) can outweigh the benefit unless you generally play at this
level.
Most Harrah's properties are full of short-pay machines, although a few do
have some fairly OK plays. The Biloxi Grand previously had 9/6 JOB
at the dollar level with a progressive RF. If those machines were still present this would be a good place to try for
Diamond status, especially with the "Diamond in a Day" program.
Last I heard the best machines here were 8/6 JOB
