More Resources for RV Travelers and Gamblers

Here are some sites with a wealth of information for RVers and gamblers, and a few others that are just very cool!

Camping Books and other Print Publicaitons

Gypsy Journal has a lot to offer -- Nick and Terry Russell are full-time RVers and publish a print newspaper called the Gypsy Journal.  Six issues a year with news from the road as they travel the country.  The web site is a good source of information on many RV topics.  They previously owned a converted MCI bus, and the story of the conversion is there too.  In addition to all this they have written many books on a variety of RV and travel topics, including Casino Camping. Take a look!  www.gypsyjournal.net

Travel Books USA www.travelbooksusa.com is the website of Roundabout Publications, publishers of many best-selling RV books including Casino Camping, the Guide to RV-Friendly Casinos by Jane Kenny.

RV Related Web Sites

(Reference Site)  HitchItch.com is a master link site, with a large and growing collection of links related to RVing.  One area has links to many travel blogs.  You'll want to put this one in your Favorites/Bookmarks.

Escapees RV Club - www.escapees.com  (RV Club and Forum)

We're members of Escapees.  They are a total support network for serious RVers, especially fulltimers.  Their site includes a wonderful forum.  Their mail service is the largest in the industry and highly praised by many.  Escapees also has a great network of private parks where boondocking is $2.50 to $4.00 a night and full hookups between $9 and $15.

OvernightRvParking.com is the new web site of Jim O'Brient, owner of the Overnight Parking Yahoo Group.  New web site launched April 6, 2008 and Jim has the most complete general listing of overnight parking opportunities that I've seen on the web.  NOTE:  Someone emailed me about this being a members only site.  Yes, there is a small fee for membership but in my opinion it's worth the price.  Your membership can be extended by participation in keeping their database up to date.

RVBuddy.com has campground reviews, RV classified ads, and a good collection of links to other online RV resources.  Definitely worth visiting.  www.RVBuddy.com

theRVer.com  Their site says "We are searching the Internet and hope to include every RV-related link we can find so you will have a one-stop website to find what you need."  I recommend checking it out.

RV Camper Guide - Everything about RV campers, camper trailers, camper rental, recreational vehicle and motorhome vans. Find the information on RV parts, accessories, used rv campers, pop up, pick up campers, etc.

Troubleshooting and Technical Help - This site has a wealth of info and many links to more, all about troubleshooting technical problems with RVs.  At first glance you'll notice the site is for Foretravel RV's, but it has information applicable to any make and model!

Las Vegas and Gambling

Las Vegas Advisor If you visit Las Vegas, and you're not an LVA member, you're giving up free money -- it's as simple as that.  They have a great web site with tons of information, an excellent forum, and a coupon book that is second to none.  You'll also occasionally pick up a tip on a great advantage play in their forums.  But the coupon book is a no-brainer, by itself it's worth the price of membership.  www.lasvegasadvisor.com

Check the LVA out free for 5 days.  Click on the following link:  http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/free5day.cfm  FYI, I have no financial ties to the LVA, I've been a member for about 8 years and it's a great deal.

vpFREE  The best free on line resource for video poker information.  Includes a Yahoo group, a huge user-supported database of video poker machines in casinos all over the USA, and many other useful resources.

Jean Scott - The Queen of Comps, author of The Frugal Gambler, More Frugal Gambling, Frugal Video Poker, etc.  Her books and other writings are required reading for anyone who wants to get the most enjoyment from their casino visits.  http://queenofcomps.com

www.CocktailDoll.com  The inside story of being a cocktail waitress at a casino.  Great funny stories, tipping guidelines and more.

Nick Pappagiorgio's Vegas Hipster   www.VegasHipster.com

Las Vegas Reviews, Hotels, Casinos, Restaurants, Buffets, Shows, Helpful Tips, Do's and Don'ts of Vegas, What To Wear, Vegas Slang, Vegas Transportation. Vegas Slang, Vegas Attire and more.

The Gambler's Boutique  www.thegamblersboutique.com  If you're trying to find a gift for the gambler in your life take a look at this site.  They have a good selection and reasonable prices.

Miscellaneous Cool Stuff

Lakeshore Images  If you enjoy outdoor and wildlife photography you MUST visit Jon Vermilye's web site.  Absolutely gorgeous photographs of birds, flowers, waterfalls, and more.  http://lakeshoreimages.com

Forums and Groups Online

At first, I wasn't going to start a forum but decided to do so in mid May 2006.  We'll see how it goes.  Come visit and post your experiences, ask questions, etc.

There are several good online forums where RVers meet to exchange information about free and low cost camping opportunities.  Some are general in nature, others focus on Wal-Mart parking, etc.

Following are links to some sites that I use and enjoy.  When you first post on these forums, please let them know that you found their forum through CasinoCamper.com.  Thanks!

The Official Blog of the Open Road

Whatever your interests I bet you'll find something here that you'll enjoy reading.  With 30 experts blogging on everything from Casino Camping (written by yours truly) to RV maintenance and family camping.  Drop by and visit soon!

Camping Tips Group  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/campingtipsgroup/

In their own words:  "The purpose of this group is to gather information about dump sites across the country, inexpensive camping, internet connections at camp grounds, wifi sites free and fee driven and overnight sites, such as Walmart, Flying J, BJ's, Cracker Barrel, and other places."

Walmart RVing Group  http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/walmartrving/

In their own words:  "This group is the positive voice of WalMart Rving. The purpose of this group is to discuss overnight parking of RV's at Wal-mart, K-Mart, Flying J, Travel Centers of America, Camping World, Union76 Truck Stops, Love's, Pilot Travel Centers, AmBest Truck Stops, casinos, and similar hosts that allow free overnight RV parking."

Casino Comps  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/casino_comps/

In their own words:  "The goal of this forum is to track the level of comps provided by individual casinos based on a given level of play. Additionally casino promotions are tracked and analyzed, to determine their actual value."

 Business Inquiries

Link Exchanges:  I don't do link exchanges.  I only post links that I think are useful and that my readers will benefit from.

Advertising:  I'm using Google for all the ads on the site and that's working good for me.  The money I've been offered for individual ads hasn't been worth the extra hassle of doing a contract, posting the ads, worrying about legality, etc.  To advertise here I recommend using Google and specifying this website

"I want to buy your website":  I'm enjoying this website and I'm not willing to sell for anywhere close to a reasonable price ;-)   I've been offered $5000 and said no.
