To get to the RV parking follow the signs for
general parking. At the west end of the parking lot there are long spaces
marked for bus and RV parking only. There aren't very many spaces and since
our motorhome is short enough to fit in two standard car spaces we parked on
the edge of the regular lot which was fine.
We didn't eat at the casino but played some on
the two days we were there. It seemed to us to be better laid out and
roomier than most other riverboat casinos in this area of the country. The
entire casino closes from 6AM until 9AM. The restaurant area reopens an hour
earlier at 8AM.

We stayed at the Casino Queen RV Park in East
St. Louis two years ago. Nice park right down by the river and walking
distance to the Casino. Full Hookups including cable and a full
breakfast for everyone in your unit and the rate was $14.95 per night!
The Metro runs nearby and can take you anywhere
in town quickly. St. Louis Zoo is free and really spectacular. The Arch is
also memorable but if you suffer from small space phobia, the ride up and
down might bother you! River walk and boat ride up the river was
interesting also. We're not gamblers so can't tell you about the
casino but their breakfasts are excellent.

Empress Casino has their own RV park attached
(Good Sam park) with water/electric only. Dump station open to
anybody is located behind hotel.
Nice new campground associated with their
riverboat casino and adjacent to their hotel. Pull through and back in sites. Level paved, water, electric and cable sites
with paved interior roads. Grassy landscaping between pads. Good new
laundry, store and restrooms. RVers can use the indoor pool at the hotel.
Office modem hookup. Sites easily comped.

They "highly" discourage you parking in the
parking lot, will let you, but will not let you park overnight as we
found out (no reason given)...not RV friendly for boondocking and
attached RV park is average (can take shuttle to casino)
Metropolis

Harrahs Metropolis

- from reader Eric, February 2006
Harrahs Casino is located in the heart of
Metropolis (watch the signs to get to the Casino as you have to navigate the
city streets, as we found out with our 31' fifth wheel). No RV park
attached, small parking lot but we boondocked on the outskirts of the
parking lot among the cars.
