Casino Camper Report, October 2008

This casino is owned by Harrah's, and was previously a Caesars casino.  Harrah's has rebranded it as a Horseshoe.  We visited for a 2 night stay as we traveled south with the geese.  Here are the basics:

RV Parking is in a large, well lit area with long parking spaces reserved for RVs and trucks with signs posted to this effect.  Security will ask how many days you plan to stay when you arrive, a few days is fine, and they patrol the lot frequently day and night.

The lot has a slight slope, but we didn't feel the need to level out.  Noise is moderate, with many trucks frequenting the lot but here's a tip:  There are shorter spaces on the Northwest side of the lot, too short for a truck with trailer.  A motorhome up to 45' will fit if you drop the toad, which we did.  This gives you some separation from the trucks.

Be aware that it's a LONG walk to the casino.  I'd estimate a minimum of 1/4 mile.  Inside they have a couple of moving sidewalks to help, but it's still a hike.

Restaurants and retail area are very nicely done.  We only ate at one place, the Legend's sports bar and grill.  Casino itself is large, but spread out among 4 decks of a dockside riverboat, so there's lots of up and down escalators if you want to check it all out.  To me, it had a slightly cramped feeling.  Smoking is permitted, in the casino, restaurants, etc.

We enjoyed our stay and will stop in again when passing through.

- from D. Edgar, July 2007

Stayed at the Caesars Indiana, at Elizabethtown, In. on the Ohio River across from Louisville, Ky. We stayed in the oversized vehicle parking lot, which is on the west end of the casino complex, and the only entrance to this area is on the west end of the complex, marked by "receiving this entrance" we asked at the hotel desk about staying in the parking area, was told it was OK, no hook ups, just pavement parking.

Very nice casino, very nice dining, very tight slots, now we have to go back as I think they owe me some money that we left behind, and we WILL go back.
