Report from PlugginFool, February 18, 2010
I like your website. I use it whenever I start planning my itinerary for my
next journey. I just left The ISLE at Pompano Park, FL, and am attaching
some photos of the area. The lot is crushed stone and fairly level.
Report from Julie L., Novemver 12, 2009
I wanted to let you know that we overnighted in our motor home at Isle of
Capri in Pompano Florida on November 09, 2009.
We arrived about 5:00 pm, ate dinner at the buffet ($9.99 and just okay),
and watched some of the horse races (didn't win on any of the races ). My
husband had hoped to play some poker but a poker tournament had all the
tables filled. We joined the players club and was told we would get $25 in
free play after we earned $50 points but we didn't come anywhere near
earning that many points. It seemed to be a smoke free casino, which I
enjoyed.
When we arrived we asked the security person at the entrance if we needed to
let anybody know we were staying overnight and he said no, as long as we
were parked in the far right lot marked for RV parking. 3 other motorhomes
came in that night, and there was about 15 trucks. I talked to a trucker
who said many truckers overnight here because there is not a good truck stop
nearby. It was fairly quite and I did notice the security folks come
through several times throughout the night.
I meant to get a picture but I forgot. Basically just a large gravel area
at the end of the parking lot. We were able to get a shuttle back to our
camper from the casino.

First, Thank You for your web site! It is snow bird
season in Florida and all camp grounds within a 60 mile radius of my
husbands job were full! If you could find a spot it was horridly
expensive. So we decided to try Casino parking.
Security is great. I walked back and forth to the
Harness Racing Track and casino. They do have a shuttle that will pick you
up and drop you off at your RV. Buffet breakfast Fri, Sat and Sun for
$4.95 was good. I Joined the Players Club and activated it with $1 of
my own money, got a free $20 and hit on the slots a couple of times, hit two
.10 exactas and played on their money for 3 weeks. I'm not a big
gamble. Picky and patient!
Super Wal Mart is within a mile (no overnight parking).
Nearby Easterland Park 1000 NW 38th st., Oakland,FL. charges $8 for
dumping, fresh water and they took my trash! We have a class C so we
were able to take showers. But there is a Truck Stop 2.52 miles, 1101
NW 31st Ave. that charges $10 for a showers, they supply towels.
Forever Propane 350 NE 44th st. Oakland Park has a fill station on right
hand side, you will see tanks before you see name of place.
Parking is gravel and large. A lot of truckers are
in and out. Weekenders pick up a bit, but it was peaceful. There
is one truck camper that has been here before us and will probably be here
if you come. Don't let the looks of them scare you, they keep to
themselves and are nice. Onto next job location!
