Dover Downs parking area - photo from Karen B.
- report from Karen B., October 2007
Follow the self parking signs to the left and then turn
left into the gravel and grass area. This area is shared by buses , trucks
and RVs but it's so big that you can park away from any noisy buses and
trucks. The photograph shows just a small portion of the lot. There's a free
dump station as you enter the lot but it doesn't have a separate fresh water
fill faucet.
Besides horse racing this track also has NASCAR races and
there are lots on the opposite side of the track from the casino for camping
during the races but I don't know if this affects the availability of casino
camping during NASCAR races.
A major remodeling of the casino and hotel are just
wrapping up. The only work still unfinished is a new entrance and outdoor
restaurant seating areas so everything inside is very new. The casino is
large , many kinds of slot machines but we didn't find any good VP in this
casino either.

Delaware Park - photo from Karen B.
- report from Karen B., October 2007
The casino and racetrack betting area are at opposite ends
of the building and each has a large parking area. You can park in either
one but we stayed in the racetrack lot because it had fewer cars and was a
little quieter. Shuttles run regularly with stops at both lots and the
casino and track entrances. Both lots are a little noisy during the day
because of train tracks paralleling the lots and because all casino traffic
coming and going passes by the lots but it quiets down nicely at night. The
racetrack lot has a picnic area ( no gas grills ) with big shade trees and a
playground. It has chain link fencing so that you can watch the horses as
they start around the bend.
The casino is big and has a good variety of machines.
There are video poker machines scattered through out and one elevated area
with only poker machines. The best we found were 7/5 JOB quarter machines
and 8/6 dollar machines.
