Last month we stayed in their area for campers. It was real easy to
get to with signs telling you where to park. There were a lot of other
motorhomes. I will have to say that you do get a lot of noise from the
freeway but otherwise a good place to spend the night. They also said you
may stay up to 72 hours.

Drove over to SPOTLIGHT 29 Casino for the evening. There
is now a large marked RV parking lot to the west side of the casino. Free
overnight parking is allowed.
They have separated the RV's from the trucks so other than
the freeway noise it is fairly quiet. They have posted signs for RV parking
so it is easy to find off the I-10 freeway. Typical large Vegas type casino.

Update, October 16, 2008
Jim O'Briant at
www.OvernightRVParking.com
sent me an update saying that an RVer on his site reported that Overnight RV
Parking is currently not allowed at Spotlight and the RV area is coned off
due to ongoing construction. Jim said the casino plans to allow
Overnight RV Parking again in the future, but could not give an estimated
date.

Update, February 6, 2008
Today I talked with Captain Saenz, Public Safety,
Spotlight 29 Casino. A short time back they thought they would need to
prohibit RV parking because of construction, especially during special
events. They found a way around this so they can accommodate RVers.
The current policy is as follows: RVers
may park overnight with a 24 hour limit. This is enforced on weekends and
for special events. Also, during special events parking is very limited and
RVers are told to move to one specific area. Once that area is full no
additional RVs can be allowed to stay on property. Bottom line, Spotlight 29
is working hard to accommodate us and is still an RV Friendly casino.

I just called the Spotlight 29 Casino in Indio, CA
today, 1/26/08. I was told that they had a temporary ban on overnight
camping due to construction. They didn't say how long it would be until
they allowed use of an overnight area. Security said to call ahead, but
made no promises if or when this would change. I hope I was told wrong
because this has been a great place to stay overnight for several years.

We overnighted at the Spotlight 29 Casino in
Coachella recently. They have a large area for RV's and a separate area
for trucks. RV rules: Parking limited to 24 hours in designated RV
area only; no outside cooking; no open containers of alcohol; pets on
leash and clean up after them.
They have a fast food court (which we didn't
check out, but includes a McDonald's). We ate at the cafe. The food
was average and the ambience was institutional...circa 1968. The
video poker looked dismal according to our non-scientific poll.

Boondocked a few nights at the Spot 29 Casino in Coachella. It has a huge
paved parking area and RV-ers are welcomed. I noticed some got so
comfortable that their TV dishes were set up. Excellent security 24-7.
This is a favorite with the large trucks as well, who have a separate area
to park.
