We have also stayed at the Konocti Vista Casino
Resort, Marina and RV park in Lakeport, CA. Restaurant was ok. Had the prime
rib buffet one time. The smart choice was a New York steak off the menu.
There are 74 spaces with 50 amp service, washers/dryers and clean. We were
met by the park host who was very helpful. We had been dry camping for days,
so it was nice to have hookups. Blackjack didn't kick my backside like Cache
Creek. I left with a few of their $$. There is a Best Western Motel on the
grounds, stayed there once. Clean rooms with a very short walk to the
casino. On the back side of the hotel is a nice patio area with boat ramp
and quite often a bass fishing tournament. The location can be a
little hard to find if you aren't paying attention.
Highway 175 to Konocti is an unpleasant route
for long rigs. In fact, they don't allow rigs over 36' (i think that's the
measurement). Our friend thought it would be fun to take that route while we
took highway 20. He had a truck and 30' trailer. He said it was a tight
squeeze for him. Some of the turns were quite tight. He only arrived 10
minutes before we did, so the stress factor (or backup factor!) is not worth
the time difference!
